Unhappy

A tough call, but I've decided to pack up my whistles and stripes. I was elected to our local school board starting this summer, and I don't feel I have the time to do a proper job there and keep up my officiating schedule. I will probably renew my license, but I have taken no contracts for next year. Hopefully I can fill in just enough to cover my license and association dues.

In my brief, 2-year career, I learned more from this site than anywhere else, including the manuals. I'd just like to thank all of you for helping me out so much, especially mick who sometimes went out of his way to send this boy "DOWN" here in Indiana some extra input.

I imagine I'll have to pop in now and then to see how the discussions are going and to see if the timeless question of "Is rules knowledge or presence more important?" is ever answered!

You know, the more I think about it, maybe I'll leave the striped shirts and Fox 40's easily accessable. They may come in really handy at school board meetings!

Best of luck guys--and Juulie! May your shoes always be shiny and your whistles always full!

Sorry you're leaving us, but I hope you do a bang-up job. Congratulations on being elected. You're trading one tough job for another! Best of luck to you.

Chuck

Wait, donÂ’t quite! Just think of the power you now have.

“Coach, not only are you ejected from the game but you are also fired from the school system!”

That was answered long time ago, it just was not agreed upon.

But other than that, enjoy your new position in life. Hope it all works out for the best, and please do not stop officiating completely. You do not want to be 10 years older and think to yourself, "I wish I stayed a little longer."

Peace
