Okay, I take back everything nice I said about the Blazers this past couple of weeks. Now Zach Randolph slugged Reuben Patterson in a practice, Cheeks didn't even know what to do, and it's all over the news everywhere. The sports editorial column this morning says, "Disband the whole kindergarten!" But of course, nothing will get better until we trade Whitesitt ... Whitsit ... Whittsit... Whatever...

I still wonder if we can trade the whole bunch of clowns for the Expos.

Me, too
Hey Vera! Are you listening?
(For those not in the area, Vera Katz is the mayor of Portland, Or.) |

I was just at the grocery store and they had a radio station promotion going on. If you answered three questions correctly, you had your choice of prizes. One of the choices is a Trailblazer logo hat. The DJ told me I was the fifth person to win a prize so far, and I was the fifth person to choose something other than a Blazer hat. I was also the fifth person to tell him specifically I didn't want anything with a Blazer logo on it.
Boy - those guys are popular around here. |
Unpopular until:
They WIN!!
Keep in mind, I don't like their behavior either. I blame most of their player problems on PIPPEN. He was brought there to lead. Lead meaning playing hard every game, chastising unacceptable behavior and most importantly showing the most talented team in the league HOW he WON 6 RINGS! The owner handles his business by paying the players very well. Cheeks, just took over Iraq as the coalition troops approach. Pippen, Pippen, Pippen!!!!!!! |

Juulie - you know as well as I do that the Blazers pick up players such as Wallace, Stoudamire, Woods, Randolph, Wells, etc. because they don't care what the "average" fan in Portland cares about the team. It's like the old line from Laugh In - "We're the phone company. We don't care. We don't have to." The Blazers are the only major league franchise in town and they only care if they sell the luxury boxes to corporations and season tickets to rich dudes and other corporations.
They won't have to start caring until they get some real competition for the sports entertainment dollar here in Portland, and that means an NHL franchise owned by someone other than Paul Allen. Frankly, I wouldn't walk across the street to see those bums - for free!!! The alumni team is more entertaining. |
