The other day we played in a city league game and team A inbounds the ball and there was confusion on who had who and they scored a basket. It was then found out that they had 6 people on the floor. A T was called and 2 shots awarded. I am thinking this is the right call, but since they gained a advantage is this a correctable error?? thanks!

Sorry!

There are only 5 specific Correctable Errors, and to the best of my recollection, none of them have to do with the number of players on the floor. ;)

BTW, Welcome to the board!

No this is not a correctable error. This can only be penalized when noticed. If noticed it is simply a Technical foul. Any points scored or FT taken cannot be taken off the board just for having too many players on the court.

Peace

This not a correctable error since it is not one of the following situation:
1.awarding an unmerited free throw(s).
2.permitting the wrong player to attempt a free throw(s)
3.failure to award a merited free throw.
4.officials erroneouly awarding or cancelling points.

if there is one more situation please tell me..because in the FIBA rules there is only 4 situations.

peace..
