NCAA Rules: R2-12-9 - Sound a warning signal 15 seconds before the expiration of an intermission or charged timeout.

CCA Men's BB Officiating Manual: 22.7F - The 30 seconds will begin when the game official indicates to the scorer that both teams are in the vicinity of their respective benches. The timer shall sound a 10-second warning.

I thought 10 and got corrected.
I looked for memo and found none.

Conflicting information.

You know sometimes they do not verify the information in one book compared to another. This is just another example of that. I haven't been doing college that long, was it 10 seconds at one time before, or was it always with the 15 second warning?

Peace

NCAA: 15 sec horn (halfway thru a 30 sec TO, after 60 secs of a full TO)

must be a typo.

Bu-bu-bu-but...

It seems like the......................

CCA Manual is wrong. I think this rule recently changed and they did not change the CCA Manual to match. But I have not been doing college ball that long, so I hope someone can shead some light on this.

Peace

I thought the "old way" was 15 seconds.
Doesn't really matter, I guess.
College teams never break until the next day anyway.

This was just a point of discussion and I would hate to think my college buddies knew as much as I about their game.:)

I'm not 100% sure, but I think TO's used to be 60 secs, and now they're actually 75 secs. so the warning buzzer comes after a minute, and then right after the second buzzer the ball is supposed to go into play. The idea, I believe, was to give the team a full 60, and then get the ball back in play as quickly as possible.

Which, of course, never happened. Which, of course, shouldn't be surprising, because as Mick said, teams never bust their butt to get back out anyway.

Changed last year because NCAA timers couldn't remember when it was 10 seconds and when it was 15 seconds. ;)

Now all (I'm sure someone will find an exception to that term) NCAA horns are 15 seconds prior to the end.

Thanks, bob.
Ignorance is no excuse.
I gotta quit kickin' that stuff.
