I am a high school official but one of the adult rec leagues that I work in uses college rules rather than high school. We are sent a sheet at the beginning of the year that goes over the major differences, but it is obviously no replacement for a rule book.

So, to my question, the way I understand it, if you call a T, you shoot 2 free throws and then continue from the point of interruption (as opposed to giving the ball to the other team at half court). What if the T occurs after a shooting foul is called? In HS, you must administer free throws in the order in which the infractions occur - does the same hold true for college rules? Or should you shoot the T immediately and then shoot the foul shots with players in the lane? Does this hold true if the T occurs between the first and second of 2 free throws?

If you have an administrative or unsporting T, you stop whatever you are doing and shoot the T. Then you resume play at the point of interruption. If you have an intentional T, you then treat the T like you would in a high school game, that is, shoot things in the order that they occurred and give the ball to the team that shot the T at midcourt.

NCAA Men's and NCAA Women's has some differences here. Which set of rules are you using?

Then the issue becomes using of the Point of Interuption Procedure. Your application of POI is also going to depend on what type of foul you have.

So in order to give you an accurate answer, it depends on which NCAA Rules you are using and what kind of Technical Foul has been called.

I'll just add that any dead ball contact that is whistled is to be considered an intentional T. But if it's a double intentional T then no one shoots and you go to POI.

We are to use the NCAA men's rules. The was against the coach for unsportsmanlike conduct.

It sounds like we should have shot the 2 T shots, then resumed play by shooting the free throws for the foul, correct?
