One of the misconceptions people (fans, mostly) have on a spot throw-in is that there is a pivot foot when inbounding the ball. There is not.

I know there are a lot of things you can do in the 3' foot wide box that an inbounder has, (jump, move side to side or forward and back) but here is my question:

Can he/she dribble/bounce the ball? I'm not talking about a bounce pass, which must land in bounds, I'm talking about dribbling the ball. Any thoughts?

once the ball is at his/her disposal, the thrower-in can bounce that ball to their heart's content..... for 4 seconds

Neither the dribbling nor the traveling rules apply during a throw-in, so the answer is yes.

Also, if I'm officiating he can also hold the ball OOB and have a teammate touch it, but not take it. However, if Tony is reffing this is a violation! :)
