3 point line?

Are you sure about the NBA line staying the same? I thought I remembered it being pushed in a bit, maybe in the late 80's, in the hope that making it a more makeable shot it would unpack the inside more, and I thought that it was successful in that, and 3's went up dramatically right after the change.
