OT - mazel tov to Mark Cuban

Good job putting that team together, dude. Congrats on the title. No question Dirk should be the finals MVP.

From where I sit.....

I was happy to see him keep quiet and remain on the sidelines and let the players and coaches be the center of attention - and not him.

If his intent was not to upset the apple cart......it worked.

Unfortunately this gives no credibility to Cuban.

I guess the guys in gray weren't all that bad this year. Notice we didn't hear

about Cuban whining like a skirt, because he was winning.

Yes the Mavs were great and Dirk was off the chain, but for my two cents

Cuban is a tool with regards to the officiating in the NBA !!!!!!!!

+1

I agree & by the Mavs getting one, this should prove that the fix is NOT in!
Out of all the NBA owners, I'm sure Stern & Co didnt want to see this tool get one.

They want to see the team that draws the largest TV audience win. Remember, it's the NBE.

BTW - I wonder if Cuban can shout "WINNING" louder than Charlie Sheen? :D

Once we tune in the ratings are a done deal, who wins has nothing to do with whos watching.

Texas is a huge State but Miami sells more apparel & has more star-power than Dallas.
I've rarely (if at all) see the kids rocking a Terry, Kidd, Barerra jersey... you cant go to a gym without seeing a James or Wade jersey.

Yes - but Texas has 3 teams in it, so apparel is divided.

First ... why can no one spell or say Barea? :) Second ... how can you make this statement and not say Nowitski? I suspect your assertion is true in some locales ... completely not true here though. I see Nowitski jersey's all the time ... and even Nash Mav jerseys. I guarantee I see more Nowitski, Duncan, Ginobili, Yao, and even McGrady jerseys worn by "the kids" than LJ or Wade (all of the above dwarfed by Kobe, of course).

As stated earlier, I'm sure TPTB didn't want Dallas to get a title. I'm just as sure that they never made any such comment to any referee anywhere. I think Cuban's behavioral change was more along the lines of him growing up than anything else.

You do realize that LeBron's Jersey was the best selling jersey in all of the NBA right? Not Wade, not Kobe and certainly not Rose. It is not far fetched for anyone to see more LeBron's jerseys than other folks, even in Dallas.

Peace

I meant nationally not specific to Florida & Texas, of course you are gonna see those particular jerseys living in TX. What I meant is you would see James/Wade in more States than you would any Mavs jersey (except TX).

Who? That little dude is something else, not that I condone it but I see why the Laker player tried to take him out. And I bet Lebron & Co wish he had!!

Easy, Dirk is a star & not in the same category as his teammates! It wasnt a slight, it was a given!

Mavs winning it all was good for the leagues reputation! Cuban got one so it cant be fixed.
The biggest idiot coaches I know behave well when they're winning. Doesn't mean anything has changed...

Ummm....

I am neither confirming or denying my presence at games 1 and 2 of the WCF but Cuban was FAR from calm. I actually found him somewhat enjoyable to watch. Talk about a guy who wears his emotions on his sleeves. The one scene that sticks out, had I been there, was in game 2. Can't remember the call but it was a close one. He (may) have had his hands on top of his head waiting for the jumbotron to reply the foul and it did. He then (possibly) threw his arms out, looked over to where Stu Jackson was sitting and started flapping his arms towards Mr Jackson, the Jumbotron and the Offiical with some choice words thrown in. He completed it with a nice piroette! (Ok I can't spell that but I CAN spell Berea!)
He just kept his comments out of the media. He still made them on the sidelines (or so I hear!)

Part of that is because he changed teams last year; similar to the reason why Tebow's jersey was the highest selling in the NFL over the spring.

JRutledge Mon Jun 13, 2011 11:45pm

And part of that is there is a part of society that was not offended by his actions either. There are a lot of factors. Not trying to figure them out either, but a hated guy does not usually lead in jersey sales. I do not remember Kobe being at that point when he had is little trouble.

Peace

Yeah, I don't know that he's "hated" outside of Cleveland. But I also don't think he'd be at the top of the jersey charts if he hadn't changed teams; Kobe has never changed teams, so his fans never needed to update their wardrobe.
