Kobe Bryant changed jersey numbers from 8 to 24 in the 2006-2007 NBA season.

Shows how closely I follow.

Not quite the same as changing teams, but it's similar.

Kobe had led jersey sales every year since the number change until this year when LeBron changed numbers/team jersey.

Technically, four men are tied with the most teams played for in NBA history: Chucky Brown (played from 1989-2002), Tony Massenburg (1990-2005), and Jimmy Jackson (1992-2006) were all on the active rosters of twelve different NBA franchises. Tony Massenburg has also had two separate terms with two teams, and as well as playing on two European teams, and thus could arguably be called the most well-traveled of the three men.

Recently Joe Smith (1995-present) debuted with the Lakers which is his 12th NBA team.

Wow, "their fans" must have had to shell out a lot!

I wonder if that will change given his disappearing act in the finals, especially in the fourth quarters of critical games. Whether it is lack of killer instinct, wilting under pressure, or other assorted theories being bandied about by sports commentators, he is clearly not up to MJ or Kobe standards (yet?).

LeBron is switching to hockey. That way he only needs to play 3 periods.

The 2nd best team that money could buy. I do believe the Mavs had the 2nd highest payroll in the "League"

Maybe, but they're older than the '99 Bulls are now.

One of our local radio shows played a clip from one of the late night talk shows last night and the host said, "I caught a few minutes of the NBA finals last night, so I missed most of the game. Of course, so did LeBron."

How many teams??

Can I Keep My Jersey?: 11 Teams, 5 Countries, and 4 Years in My Life as a Basketball Vagabond by Paul Shirley

Granted, no one was exactly clamoring for a Paul Shirley jersey, but whatever. It is a good read.

I'm sure it's a best seller in Ames.
