NBA Traveling
Watching Game 1, and LeBron had the ball, not dribbling, with one knee on the floor. He got up to two feet, all without dribbling. No travel called.
I glanced over the NBA rulebook...nothing about getting up from the floor without dribbling. Did I miss something or do they not consider that traveling? |
i saw the same thing. hmmmmmmm??

This is not a travel under NBA rules.. A player who gains possession of the ball on the floor is allowed to stand up and establish a pivot foot. There is no explicit rule, like NF/NCAA that disallows a player from attempting to stand up when gaining possession on the floor.

Isn't the title of this thread an oxymoron? :D

Also, they can fall while holding the ball without traveling. |
