In high school rules, do OT time outs carry over to the next over time (of the same game) if the score is still tied? I was told by a coach that 1 time out is issued per OT. If that team does not use that time out, it carries over to the next. Is this true?

Please, I know someone here knows for sure. It may be a "rookie" question but it would help me out a lot. Thanks

(FED)All timeouts not used in regulation carry over to OT. 1 full TO is added to the total unused previously at the beginning of each subsequent OT.

So, in the 5th overtime, and no time outs have been taken, i now have 5?

Just currious cuz the situation was that in the 5th OT, i used a TO. A minute later I used another TO. Ref called a T and said i had no more TOs.

Tell the ref to read FED rule 5-12-1

Three 60 sec and 2 30 sec TO's may be charged to each team during a regulation game. Each team is entitled to ONE ADDITIONAL TIME OUT DURING EACH EXTRA PERIOD. Unused Timeouts accumulate and may be used at any time

some tournaments/leagues modify the TO rule for OT and limit it to one per OT period . . . but you also should have been told when you used your last TO . . .

hawkk: If I read his post correctly, he did not take any timeouts during any of the 4 previous o/t's so he should have had 5 (because he was in the 5th o/t) to use, plus whatever he had remaining from the 1-4 quarters, if any. Wow, I think I wrote this poorly!
