Intentional foul committed by team B to end the quarter, no time left on the clock.

Is this correct?
Clear the lane, team A shoots the 2 free throws.
Quarter is over.

Somebody is trying to tell me that team A should get the ball to start the next quarter overriding the pocession arrow. The previous quarter had no time left for the throw in to follow by team A. Just unfortunate, correct?

Thanks in advance.

The way you describe it is correct, John. Thumbs up!

Point out to "somebody" that the rule states (something like), "No part of a penalty carries over from one period to the next."

John: The way I read your original post is that the foul occurred as the quarter was ending. In that case, the quarter can't end until everything is cleared up. Shoot the free throws. As you said, unfortunately A doesn't get the ball to begin the next quarter unless they were already entitled to the arrow. I had this happen once or twice and usually this takes some explaining to coaches but not much. Good job.
