Sweat Rags

This week at work, I won something: an 11"x18" sweat rag.

(It's a "Move and Improve" promotion, not to be confused with "Move TO Improve," what we do.)

Anyone carry such things during games? I never have, as I usually save my sweat-wiping for halftime.

I carry a spare whistle, not one of those fancy red and black button, possession keepers in one pocket and try to keep my ego in the other one. I am known for bringing alot of H2O. (and maybe some hot air)

I carry a small towel in my bag, along with some Kleenex, a spare Fox 40 and Smitty lanyard, Bactine, band-aids, extra shoelaces (actually had to use these once), Tums, Tylenol, prescription meds (seriously), granola bars and water. Oh yeah, a rule book and a case book. I used to keep a quarter in there in case I had to use a pay phone but I stopped doing that about 20 years ago.

Actually, I was just talking about a sweat rag during the game, in your pocket.

It may not look good, but, if I have some sweat-wiping to do, I just do it on my sleeve during a dead ball......and hope people are looking at other things or it doesn't bother them. This especially happens during these spring/summer HOT gym days!

That being said, I don't sweat near as much as some of my P's. Wow!

I carry one, I'd rather be caught wiping the sweat out of my eye than be caught missing calls due to the sweat in my eye.

Hopefully, it is not an 11"x18" towel as mentioned above. :D

LOL! Just a small black 4" x 4" cloth to dry off the dome.

I bring a snack for partners and a bar of Starburst for the officials table. My sort of bribe for the table......

I have a handkerchief in my back pocket.

Right. Too small for a towel, too big for a sweat rag. I may just cut it into four pieces.

Smoke Gets In Your Eyes ...

Several years ago, after our long time president/secretary/treasurer/assigner passed away, we all wore a black, cloth, wrist band as a memorial. I really liked it because during a really good boys varsity game I will sweat quite a bit and I would use the wrist band to wipe the sweat away from my eyes. That was a one year deal. I wish we could wear the wrist bands all the time as a part of our uniform, but, unfortunately, the "Uniform Police" are always watching.

I carry a white handkerchief in my back pocket. If I need it, I use it.

I carry Wint-o-Green Life Savers in another pocket. Mainly used during warmups and during halftime, although I've been known to pull one out during a game if I feel like it.

linen hankies don't quite work in hot summer gyms. I have a strip of white terry cloth in my pocket that I use when the sweat interferes with vision. Otherwise I consider the sweat justification for hoisting a cold post-game draft of the maximum size permitted by the applicable jurisdiction.

I have been known to manipulate "summer-league mechanics" to somehow switch and not-switch so that I end up on the end of the court with the open door or electric fans.
