A player acquires a loose ball with one hand and body while kneeling on the floor and the other arm, or hand, on the floor.

What can this player really do besides requesting a time-out?

Start to dribble.

Take the other hand off of the floor. This as I do not constitute it as trying to get up.

Four things:
1) start a dribble
2) shoot
3) pass
4) pray

I'll add that he could:
1. Throw the ball OOB
2. Travel
3. Be fouled
4. Foul another player
5. Commit a technical foul
6. Commit a 5 sec. violation if in the frontcourt
7. Commit a 10 sec. violation if in the backcourt

But this is getting silly.

He can get up.

But doesn't he lose possession for a traveling violation?

Doesn't mean he can't do it . . . :-D

Something tells me we're now into what he can do per the laws of physics as opposed to what he can do under the rules of basketball.
