How much do they make?

gents--

i'm currently an official in the st louis area but possibly moving to another city for graduate school. is there any resource to see how much officials make (for HS games) in different states/regions?

in particular, does anyone know what officials make for HS games in the los angeles area?

thanks.

There are no HS officials in LA. They're all doing D1 now. :D

RefMag has a survey a few years ago. A search will probably find it.

As long as you aren't moving to Louisiana, does it really matter what the game fee is?

Here in the Constitution State, we have a married couple who attend a high school basketball game every night. That's right, every single night. If they're at one of our games, it's considered proper mechanics that you go up to them and say hello. They usually sit at the division line, opposite the table. We've actually invited them to our end of the year officials banquet once.

The fee for our state is misleading. You can get paid more than $63 for a state tournament game. Then again there is no set fee across the state.

When I glanced at this, I knee-jerkily thought MB was talking about Louisiana.

Just a hunch, but I believe the pay scale between Louisiana and Los Angeles are probably polar opposites.
