- There was actually a three second call late in the third quarter. The lady next to me called it before the ref actually blew the whistle! Funny.
- Actually had a jump ball with 1.13 left in the game.
- Whack! Flip Saunders got T'd protesting a non-foul call in the first quarter.
- I don't know what a charge or block is in the NBA.
- For one night the Wizards actually had a good game. They shot 54% in the first half and won by 32!
- John Wall can play!

I had a good time.

interesting post..."somewhat" similar to high school games I see:

- There were six traveling calls that the officials got wrong. SIX! Remarkable. Too bad they can't show A1's "legal footwork" on a jumbotron. He caught the ball, established his left foot as his pivot foot...jab stepped to the right, then used his right foot to cross over to his left to beat his defender...TWEET!
- Despite a single player not knowing how to post up, there were several 3 second calls made. Each time, the opposing coach was yelling "3 seconds! 3 seconds! 3 seconds!" before the official blew the whistle! Funny.
- Tons of jump balls were called. Every time a defender put his hand on the ball, an official called a jump ball. Players were surprised each time because they simply played through it to continue their shot or pass.
- Several T's in the game for comments like: "that's not a foul!"; "if you saw it why won't you call it?"; and "just be consistent!".
- High school officials don't know what a charge is. 98% of the block/charge plays are called a block.
- For one night, HS kids actually had a good game. Each team shot higher than 31% and had fewer than 20 turnovers.

I had a good time.

This is a pretty broad statement, isn't it? So, should it be more like 50/50, or what?

I won't go that high.

But, I would agree, from my location on the court and in the stands, and from my angle, I believe we call too many blocks too.

Great question in Norman Chad's column in the Washington Post today. It went something like...

"If Lebron James were involved in a single car accident, would Dick Bavetta whistle the tree for a blocking foul?"

I really didn't understand it, but I recently heard on the radio that, somehow, Lebron James, the Boston Red Sox, and the Liverpool Football Club, are sleeping together. I don't believe it either, but it's true, it's true. Kind of reminds me about a priest, a minister, and a rabbi that walk into a bar.

The world's best basketball players play in my video game system and the world's best basketball officials work in my driveway.
