Attempting to learn the basics on three man mechanics (will probably be next year before I will need to know)

Ball goes OOB on the side line nearest the Center A1 front Court
1 below the free throw line extended A keeps the ball
Does the L throw the ball in the the old center become the trail?

2 above the free throw line A keeps the ball
Does the lead flex and the old Center become the trail and makes the throw in?

3 B gets the ball
Is there a flex where the old L makes the throw in and the old Center becomes the new Lead

thanks in advance for these simple questions. Our Association has made a committment to three man next year for most if not all HS games- just trying to get a jump on the matter

When working 3-whistle, there are always 2 officials on the side of the court where the throw-in is being made. So in #1, the L slides over to the old C's side. The old C becomes the T and administers the throw-in. The old T slides up to the FT line and becomes the C.

In #2, you are correct, and it's handled just like #1.

In #3, you are also correct.

I should say that I'm answering according to NCAA mechanics, b/c all my HS games are 2-whistle. But I'd be surprised if Fed mechanics were different.

In situations like these, you can remember that in 3-man mechanics, the lead only administers throw-ins on the endline. The trail (might have been center switched to trail as per this example) will administer all throw-ins on his sideline and in the backcourt. Also, the center should never administer a throw-in.
