What is the best way to remember where the throw-in will be on technical fouls, spot closest to the violation or division line opposite? If anyone has a system, I would appreciate it. I know the books tell us but in the heat of the battle, sometimes one might get it wrong. Thanks

For Fed, all technical fouls are at division line oppposite the table. All other fouls are at the closest spot to the foul (!)

I don't know what to tell you...this is one you need to memorize. If you need a memorization tip, maybe remember that after a T is called, it's a good idea to get away from the bench. Since a throw-in after a "T" is always at midcourt on the side of the floor opposite the bench, you'll never be next to the benches for a throw-in after a T.

What if you have a "Intentional Technical"?
...made basket, dead ball, A1 grabs B1 and holds him so he can't get to the ball for a throw-in? Clock is ticking... Dude |

For throw-in spots, the only thing you have to remember is whether it is a personal foul or a technical foul. Personal fouls (even if flagrant or intentional) will be inbounded at the closest spot. Technical (even if flagrant or intentional) will be at the division line (assuming NF). |
