There's a town outside of our local officiating area that has two public high schools. One has an outstanding girls basketball program, the other one doesn't. The one with the good girls basketball program offers a state sponsored vocational agriculture program, the other one doesn't. The head coach at the basketball/agriculture school would tell the best middle school basketball players on the other side of town to sign up for vocational agriculture. He's no longer coaching there. He got in big trouble when he told his players not to play high school softball so they could play on the AAU basketball team that he sponsored.

I would recommend to any basketball fan to read "Miracle at St. Anthony." It is a great book about the 2004-2005 St. Anthony's squad.

Hurley doesn't need to recruit. Players seek him out... he sends nearly all of his players to college. Many to major conference D1 schools.
