OT - 4th HS Athlete Dies this month

This time in South Texas...so much grief in such a short period of time. My heart goes out to all of them...

I really don't mean to make light of these heart-rending losses for those who know these kids, but this does happen with some regularity among the millions of high school athletes. It happens to non-athletes too.

Yes, it does happen, but it seems unusual for this many in such a short period of time. A lot of athlete deaths are heat related, not sudden death on a basketball court in front of family, friends, teachers, coaches, etc. Yes, non-athletes die, too - usually from car accidents.

I'm pretty sure he meant that non-athletes die from causes similar to these athlete deaths that have made the news recently. Athletes (some very high profile) die in car accidents, too, so that's really not at issue here.
