How do I quote another post so that it attributes the quote to that post?

Thanks for your help.

Barry, just click the "quote" icon underneath the post that you want to use.

Okay, so Professor Quote-Meister, give me lesson 102. How do I put in one quote and then geta quote from yet another post into that same reply? Remember, I'm still struggling with smilies!

That's tougher, Juulie. You quote the first one simply by using the "quote" button at the bottom of the post. But if you want to add a second quote, you have to do it manually. That means you copy the section you want to quote from the post, using Control-C, and then paste it into the reply window, using Control-V.

Then at the beginning of the new quote you have to type "[ quote ] [ b ]" without the spaces or quotation marks. That will tell the computer that you want it indented and bold. Then at the end of the passage you want to quote, you have to type "[ /quote ] [ /b ]" again without spaces or quotation marks. That tells the computer to end the indentation and bold print.

If you want to get really fancy, you can type [ i ]Originally posted by. . . [ /i ] at the beginning of the quote to show you who quoted.

Hope that helps! :)

The instructions are next to Posts: (click on) vB code
