A huge rain and wind storm hit Oregon late this afternoon with wind gusts over 50 mph in the Portland area and over 70 mph in Eugene! Torrential rain came with it. We're expecting more wind of "only" about 20-30 mph into the evening. Right now, there's about 110,000 homes without power in the Portland metro area due to blown down power lines.
![]() It sure was fun taking my dog for a walk about an hour ago. Sheesh! Fortunately, our season-ending local kids rec league Board meeting was this morning before any of this stuff happened.

Unfortunately Marks, that kind of wind and rain has been all too common in this area over the last several years and Md, just north of DC, seems to suffer those kind of outages all too often. Pepco gets hammered every storm.
That being said, since we're OT, the devastation in Japan is unimaginable. We absolutely need to pray for them and count our lucky stars. Very sad. Be safe folks.
