Texas State Tournament Uniforms
I saw a quick blurb on the news this morning about the UIL State basketball tournament and thought I saw the officials wearing a uniform shirt similar to shirts worn by NBA or FIBA officials. Do any of my fellow Texans know about this or was I simply imagining things? They did not look like the grey shirts many of us wear, they looked to be two tone such as grey and black.
Maybe the UIL is coming out with a special shirt that we will all eventually wear... |
Found a picture with an official in it:

Just because you found a picture, doesn't mean you're not crazy.......just saying! ;)
PS - I like the look. Is he ball watching? :p |

I like the uniforms, but on guys that need to lose weight, they look bad. Fortunately, I am not one of them.... |
Jeremy are you referring to the standard grey shirts or these special ones? Have you seen them in person?

Was at that game pictured and the uniforms themselves are not bad, but the sleeve length is long (down to the elbow). From what I have gathered, the UIL put these shirts out just for the state tourney. We certainly did not wear anything like this during the season. If I were to guess, I would say that since some chapters are wearing different style greys (I saw one chapter wearing greys with panels during an early playoff game), or some still in black and white, that UIL wanted uniformity during state. Plus, they got to put some more UIL patches on there. At least each official got their own uniform number (back of the jersey had a number, just like the NBE).

A crew here wore a version of the grey pinstripes that was more silver than grey. It also had the 4" black inseam. Looked much sharper than the standard greys. Anyone else seen them or know who the vendor might be?
