Blue Suede Shoes.

I won't go into the particulars but I attended an OhioHSAA Tournament game tonight and the U1 and U2 wore patent leather shoes, BUT the R wore, I kid you not, BLACK SUEDE SHOES!

Did it happen to be the Coffman game? I was planning on heading to the Fairgrounds today but had to finish off my year. It would have been worth it for a good laugh at this.

Elvis has left the auditorium, and I guess his blue suede shoes turned black! :D

I have a pair of Nike AirMax's that are mostly suede that I wore up until the start of this season. I've seen others wear them, including college officials. They look fine.

They do NOT look fine. One's officiating shoes should have a nice shine. I absolutely abhor patent leather officiating shoes, but I would rather this official had wore patent leather than suede.

Times are changing. I shine up my shoes, but I'm in favor of whatever black shoes fit comfortably for the official.

I saw a lot of different shoes this week as well. Evidently, shiny patent leather or polished leather shoes are not as important as shoes that provide the maximum amount of performance, support, and comfort.

I can live with that.
