Please help me.
If there is activity such as a merited free throw that must be shot after time expires in a quarter when do you instruct the timer to wind the minute break between quarters?
After the free throws or after the quarter and both teams are assembled at their respective benches.

The intermission would occur after all of the activity of the quarter is completed. This activity would include the reporting of fouls, shooting of free throws, etc.

Fire,
That was my instinct but I couldn't find it written down.

The free throws would be shot with only the shooter on the court. Therefore, as soon as he finishes his shots, the 60 second clock can begin. BTW, I don't ever remember telling a time to start the clock for the between quarter break. You do need enough time for radio to have the commercials:-).

What is the proper positions for the officials during the free throw(s)?(after time expires in a quarter) Are they the same as for any free throw(s)?

Technically yes. But as trail I will stand a little further up court so I can observe benches as well as the shooter. as lead I will move up to the first lane space that is normally occupied by an opponent for better position on the rebound.

Maybe I am misreading your reply, but why would you be concerned with rebounding if the lane was cleared?

My rebound. I'm getting this rebound and I am getting the best position in the house to get the rebound.
