Play off
I had a girls Md. state play off game tonight. After almost 2 weeks of working lower level 2 man games. 5 "T" in the last 2 days for me and 1 for my partner, I wondered what would happen in a play off game.
Well, Zero "T"s, not even close. Few complaints except from a few fans who came to complain and not encourage their kids. Final score home 80 visitors 31. Smooth as silk. I expect I am done, I have never gone to the next round. I entered officiating a little old to expect anything more, it's a younger mans game. As they say, each year, we get a year older, the kids stay the same age. I hope everyone gets a chance to be a part of the play offs, HS, Church league or wreck ball. It's fun. 11 years now. Amazing. |

Congrats, Tom!!
I did manage to score a couple of youth rec league tournament games for this Wednesday. |
Nice job T!!!
I'm sure you had a blast.....or two, or three. |
Thanks all!
It was fun. The game turned out to be one of those games where we (the officials) just had to stay out of the way and manage the game. The team from Reno beat Bishop Gorman (ranked 15th nationally) the night before (Thursday) in a huge upset and they were emotionally spent on Friday for the Championship so they didn't put up much of a fight. Their coach didn't have much to say after the first quarter and didn't even call timeouts that I remember. If not for media timeouts, this would have been a relatively quick game. At any rate, the assignment was much appreciated. |

Canyon Springs? That's the team I checked out when I was in Vegas. Explains the blowout I witnessed. |
