If a player is directed to leave the game, for a violation
of uniform rule [repeatedly pulling out his shirt]
can a coach call a time out, to keep that player in the game?

That rule is reserved for injury or blood.

No can do. We need a sub.

The rule is that the uniform shall be worn properly, as designed. "3.4.15 A player not conforming to this uniform policy shall be directed to leave the game."

There is no real lattitude to even direct players to tuck in their shirts. When we suggest that players check their look and tuck in shirts, we are doing something special to keep a player in the game. It really irks my *** to have a player try to ignore your request to tuck in a shirt and then act put out as they fold the ends under and tuck in one corner acting like that's gonna do the job.

If you want, discuss it with the coaches during the pregame and if the players don't want to comply with your helpful coaxing during the game, then get a sub and let the coach deal with it. Uniforms are the coaches responsibility.

Coach cannot keep them in with a timeout; must have a substitute.
