In Florida, I believe it's due to our school year ending in early May. Tough to fit ALL sports in before the last day of school, so they start 'em early. Softball pre-season has already started here...most of the country still has snow on the diamond.

Our boys basketball championships end on 3/5.

NICE!

Also gotta love when coach gets whacked and says "Just because you have it out for me, don't penalize my players yada-yada!"

"Hey coach, thats why my partner(s) and I are taking your whole team out for ice cream. We think putting up with you, we have ALL earned it."

Same thing here, except the part about tournament games.

Ended with a Thud!

Final game of the year. H is third best team in league, V is near the bottom.

V has 7 players. Coach tells us, three of his starters aren't there - one is sick, two are on college visits......uh oh!

End of first half, 58-11. Final score 93-16. ARGH! Easy game to call. Barely broke a sweat. GIGDGO.

Guy who ran Concession Stand for H was a baseball ump with one of my P's. Brought us pizza after the game - Nice!

At one point, the V coach said to me during a FT, "Sorry you have to be here to see this."

I told him I admired his team for their sportsmanship, attitude, and hustle - good kids. But, it was the worst BEAT DOWN I can remember reffing!

Trade you my 72-3 girls game with a running clock for the whole second half.
