Rebounding Foul or Not?

Was doing a B league rec game with some fairly competitive adult men. I was the L and a 3 pt shot went up from the left side corner of the court. An offensive player rushed in unblocked from the right side jumping up for the rebound. His momentum took him onto a defensive player on the left hand side of the key that was attempting to box out another offensive player. The player that was landed on had no idea the rebounder was about to land on him as he was moving and trying to box out the other offensive player.
Should a foul have been called on the rebounding offensive player for landing on that player?

Depends on the amount of contact, but from what I picture, probably not. B1 was blocking out A1. A2 came in from another angle and got the rebound, so now the play is over. Was B1 "hindered from performing his normal movement" in doing what he was trying to do. Doesn't sound like it.

I don't know. I'm picturing a foul. For one, we don't know whether A2 got the rebound or not, so the ball may still be loose. Two, if A2 did get the rebound, he doesn't get to just land on another player who had a spot to which he's still entitled. If you need to find an advantage here, realize that B1 is not going to be able to play defense against A2.

Now, if B1 wasn't knocked down, displaced, or impeded in any way; play on.

While I agree, the play also says that B1 was moving. So, he may have moved into A2's landing space after A2 left the ground. If so, blocking foul on B1.

To the OP -- three responses, three different answers -- no call, foul on A, foul on B. That should clarify it for you.

To sum it up for the OP: You were there and you don't know. How the hell should we know?

That's the great thing about rec league......you don't have to ask them, they'll be sure and let you know.
