Proper order: Shooting foul + 2 Ts(B)+ 1 T(A)

HS Boys Rec. (NFHS)

A1 fouled in act of shooting.
B1 (mouths off to my partner) 1st T.

Before we can even finish reporting these...

B1 (starts up again drops F-bomb at my partner) 2nd T and say goodnight!

While Im at the table explaining how to record all this, A2 (runs down and grabs the rim) gets T from me.

Heres what we did:

A1 shoots his 2 for the original shooting foul with the lane cleared.
A5 shoots 2 for the T foul(s) on B1.

B5 shoots 2 for the T foul on A2.

Went to the AP arrow for throw in.

Good? Bad? or Ugly?

B5 shoots 2 for the T foul on A2.

B should have inbounded the ball across from the table at the division line.

Remember, under NFHS, we penalize everything in the order of occurrence.

After A5 took 2 shots, another 2 shots were merited for B's second Technical Foul. After B5 shot 2 shots, B would get the division-line throw-in. Even though it may look weird, A will shoot 6 in a row, then B 2 shots with the throw-in.

With FIBA rules the penalties for the first T on B1 and the T on A2 would cancel; 2 FT for A1 (the shooting foul), then 2 FT for any team A player and division line throw-in for team A. Not as weird, IMO.

Ciao

i get kind of confused on this kind of stuff. i've read the manual and case book, and its slowly sinking in, but i need to ask. each technical foul results in two shots, right? say a player gets a foul, mouths off, gets a T. mouths off again, gets another T. coach defends his player, gets a T. ***'t coach defends the head coach, gets a T.

are we shooting eight?

Yes.

The only times you wouldn't shoot two shots for each and every technical is if a T is part of a double technical, in which case neither team shoots (they essentially cancel each other out) or for multiple flagrant technicals for leaving the bench during a fight. In this case only two free throws are given regardless of the number of players who leave the bench.

Yup. Each of the subsequent fouls is a false multiple foul. Each false multiple foul carries its own penalty and will be enforced in order of occurence.

Note this is not the case during a fight. Fights are handled with their own set of penalties.
