Nasty game tonight

GV and BV games. GV wasn't all that close, but BV was a very competitive game between two long time rivals. Game was extremely close the entire game but also very ugly. I think I called more fouls tonight than I have all season - not literally but it seemed each of us were wearing out our whistles!!! We spend most of the night in double bonus for both teams. I also got boo'ed more tonight than I have all season - as did my partners as well. Needless to say, fan's emotions were running high and I think they were feeding off the ugly court play. Believe it or not we had little problem with the coaches - I think they realized we were doing our best to keep the game under control.

I had to have a fan removed during the BV game - he was complaining all night long but we ignored him. Finally he came onto the floor sidelines and complained about a call (which I don't understand because I called a block against the opposing team). I - well I informed the game administrator and security escorted him out. The game remained ugly and ended up in a one point game.

After changing, etc. we were provided police escorts to our cars. What a nasty night. I knew going into the game it would be a rough one due to the rivalry but I never dreamed it would be this bad. I think this may rank as one of the nastiest of my career.

Too bad you had a sour game, it will make you appreciate the fun exciting ones even more.

One of my favorite rules...

If you get a lot of "Booooooos" DURING a game...

You certainly deserve a lot of "Booze" AFTER the game. :D

It is that time of year. Last week, my high school crew had 6 player technicals, 2 coach technicals, and a flagrant foul ejection (jumped up and pushed another player after being fouled). All were obvious to everyone and had to be called, but it made for a long week. Luckily Tuesday night we had 2 good teams that just knew how to play the game. I hope the same holds true for the rest of the season.

Snaqwells,
Do you do paperwork for all technicals like mentioned above, up here its only for flagrants. Just curious, I've only officiated in Alaska.

That's why you should take at least two whistles with you to your games. :)

Here, all Ts and flagrants. I know where doubleringer works, it's anything that warrants DQ aside from 5 player fouls.

Do you guys still do paperwork for such reports? It's so much easier to enter it online.
