Jump ball toss

Watching the JV game before my girls varsity. The R starts his toss at around knee level (seriously)and heaves it up. POW! Right off the face of home jumper. I swear he tossed it on a 30 degree angle. Girl grabs her face and bends over, visitor jumper tips ball and visitor has first possesion as play went on.

It was 2 man. I cannot believe he didn't re-jump. I can't believe the other official did not blow it dead, unless they are not watching the toss? Are they supposed to?

What was the worst toss you guys have ever witnessed?

With a toss so horrible, even the tossing official should of hit the whistle...even with the delay of putting the whistle back in his mouth. This will usually be a call the U1 will make. I can't believe the coach didn't give the officials he** for that. That's just starting the game off on a poor note.

Sounds like two rookie officials. No way I would allow that toss to stand

I was working at NCAAW D3 game and we had to have three tosses to start the game. First toss was way left...the second toss went behind the Referee's head...third toss was way too low but we had to get the game going.

Tell the tosser to open his eyes!

OP seems like a violation for touching the ball before it reached the apex.

I got grief for my toss on Saturday night. It probably could've been a bit higher, but the two girls jumping had probably 6 inches of vertical leap between them, so it really didn't matter.
