I would have been real tempted to T him up. He was beckoned out of his box to attend to a injuried player, not to come and address you!! Not sure I would have actually whack'ed him but I would have given him a firm warning to get back to either his bench or his player or he would be sitting the remainder of the game.

Yeah, a T may have been earned there. Not worth kicking yourself over, though.

It's not like you gave a team the ball for a throw-in under the wrong basket or something. :D
