I wasn't meaning injuries due to emotions from the movie "Jaws",

I was meaning sports-related/work related.

I get an irritating rash if I don't wear compression shorts.

Would you like to hear more?

I'd find that hard to believe.

I am meaning serious injury that involves an Emergency Room run &/or numerous doctor visits to fix/correct the injury.

Losin' one's virginity is not a work/sports related injury unless you work in a strip club or brothel.

Excuse me Loudwhistle, that comment was rather insulting considering. I'm his wife & he lost that long ago. As a one studying to be a official in more than one sport. If you were a coach making that comment to me as a official. You'd be out of the game real quick.

As a runner, athlete, etc. I've had ACL injuries in both knees, Patella dislocation in one knee, hurt ankles, torn muscles & tendons, broken fingers, bone spurs, etc. I'm still up & going & don't complain.

I think this a good topic, as far as to compare notes to see how we overcome our injuries to get back on the court, etc.

I once lost a spike during a race & was covered in blood and torn a ACL, but still qualified for state because I didn't give up.

Do you really think I care?

So it's insulting that he lost his virginity to you?

TMI!

If you don't care then why post?

I am wanting advice from others that have gone through similar circumstances, which thankfully one person has been helpful.

Sorry I didn't mean to imply too much info. I talk my mind usually & could lie if I wanted to, I'm too honest. I was just a little upset by the comment. I had a long weekend showing my rabbits & am still a bit sore from being on my feet on concrete for about 12 hours straight.

Sorry to offend you, but your husband is "famous" for posting bizarre, non official related topics that don't belong in a basketball officials' forum. He tries to answer questions as if he's an actual basketball official. I'm not interested in someones fairy tale opinion about fouls and violations. I appreciate the knowledge that other officials have shared on this forum and I welcome comments from people who have walked the walk. I suggest both of you use the search feature and you'll find answers to common problems that basketball officials encounter.

Quickly...

Most of my injuries related to sports (R shoulder-surgery, R knee-surgery, L quad-tear-rest, numerous sprains strains of ankles/knees/R shoulder) happened with me as a participant. My one work injury, which is why I'm benched until I'm fixed, is my back.

I haven't been hurt officiating, but I've not been doing it long enough to have had it possibly happen either.

P.S. I'm currrently battling daily constant pain. One is a diagnosed facial pain, the second is my back injury, and third is a semi-diagnosed L shoulder problem.

I suggest you not blast me for him. We're not the same person. I'm going to be a official by next season, but missed getting my test in for this year. I played & know the rules. I was scouted by college scouts too, but I will not discuss that here at this time. How many us as officials & upcoming officials actually played the game? It's not a requirement as a official, but you understand things better as having been on both sides of the fence. I've even had the interest in coaching too, mainly in XC, Track, & Basketball. I assist some w/ the XC team from time to time as well.
