How about Penn St/ND 1st half no call when Carroll sets pick on Crispin and is not stationary and knocks Crispin out of play with his head and rolls to basket uncontested for roll, catch drive and shot. A legal screen does not involve bending or leaning. Trail should have blown that one for the outcome of the game could have been more interesting. There were too many no calls despite all of the turnovers PS committed.

Bradley - I didn't see the play either, but ronjay42 is talking about setting a "legal screen". A legal screen requires the player to follow certain rules, one of which is that s/he must be stationary and upright with feet shoulder width apart. Drawing a charge on a ball handler follows a different set of guidelines.

Cheers!

Good point - I knew I should have had my coffee before responding http://www.refereeforum.com/ubb/smile.gif

Still, although when setting a screen on a player without the ball, you have to give 1 step for the player to stop or change direction, you still don't have to be stationary - you can move sideways or backwards.

I didn't see the play, but the rules don't say anything about a defender having to be stationary in order to "draw" a charge.
