Illegal jump stop video
Anyone have a link to a good video of an illegal jump stop? I can't seem to get a handle on it just reading the rules and interpretations. I think if I see a video, I can understand the rule better.

Nope, 'fraid not. Used to have a VHS video from the NFHS on traveling that was pretty good with jump stops but have no idea if I still have it.
I can tell you that the dribbler cannot gather the ball, jump of both feet and jump stop. Also, if he gathers the ball and jumps off one foot, he MUST land simultaneously on both feet. Those are the two violations I most often see with illegal jump stops. I can clearly pick those out. When he jumps and gathers the ball while airborne, he's less limited in how he can land and is less likely to travel. I rarely see traveling with that type of jump stop. |
