OT - Should I watch for dunking during warmups?

Tonight I have a "competitive" league 6th grade girls game. Out of all the levels in this league, this one has the "worst" parents. Of course, their daughters never foul anyone but any time another player even looks at their kid cross-eyed when they have the ball, it's gotta be a shooting foul, probably flagrant.

Over the years, I've found out that even my best meds don't help. That's why I've taken to wearing earplugs to these games. I emailed my partner and told him to bring a pair.

Oh yeah - we're required to wear the gray shirts with the thin black stripes to games in this league. I have no idea why. I had to buy one from Honigs.

The good news is that we're expecting some snow and freezing rain here later today. Maybe the game will be canceled. Just kidding about that being good news - I could use the cash because I have to buy more meds for this coming weekend's games. In this league, they pay us at halftime, usually in cash.

BTW - the girls games in this league usually take a long time to play due to the 10,000,000 jump ball calls.

Ear plugs, what a great idea.

I'm sure it was deeper than our RAIN Coach!

They're predicting we might get as much as 1/4 inch! In Portland, that's considered a blizzard. I always laugh when we get less than an inch and the whole town shuts down, since I grew up in Chicago.

The snow just started to fall a few minutes ago and it's so light, I can hardly even see it.

Two hours to game time and I have a bet in with Tim Donaghy that my game will be canceled.

Yep - it got canceled. It snowed for about 10 minutes at my house and then it took about another 10 minutes for the snow to disappear. That's Portland for ya'. Darn - now I'm going through "technical withdrawal". At least I have a few hours of Law & Order on my DVR. :)

If it's like here, it's not snow but ice that shut everything down. 5" yesterday but the sleet and freezing rain last night have made roads in rural areas quite treacherous.
