Horrible Game
 

Last night - Boys Varsity (supposedly). 4A schools - the largest in the State - with enrollments over 1200. Final score: 54 to 8.

Yes.

8.

Worst.

Team.

Ever.

They were 2 of 29 from the field (0 of 9 from 3) and 4 of 25 from the line.

40-6 at half. Hit the magic 40 point lead about 2 min. into the third quarter.

Horrible.

I guess you're lucky they actually scored 8

Count your blessings. I had a 6A girls JV game at a tournament over the holidays - score was 61-5....at half time......

A few years ago I had a GV game where the final score was 96-3.

I think all of us can remember a game or two that was horrible. Be thankful there was a running clock rule.

I had a weird one last nit.....for me anyhow
 

GV, two rival schools. Packed gym with the BV right behind us - which is actually unusual for this area.

Anyhow, V wins 60-45. However, the odd part was the H team probably scored half their points from the FT line and were probably the best FT shooting team I've ever seen. I bet they were over 80% from the line as a team.

Never saw a team that could shoot so well from the line, but on this nit, do very little else....Twas odd.

Worst game I ever had went 2OT. No, the OT wasn't the reason it was so bad. Both teams were scoreless for 8 minutes: from 2:00 left in the 4Q until 2:00 left in the 2nd OT. One girl had two FTs <strike>to win</strike> that would have won the game at the end of the 1st OT.

No, it wasn't. The best game I've ever had was a single OT game. Home team trailed by about 15 at half time, then came roaring back. They hit a layup with about 4 seconds left to tie it up. They won the OT by about 15 points; visiting team was just worn out protecting the lead.

Something doesn't add up
 

So, she won it in the first OT and you played one more just for fun?

Just picked up an extra game for Friday of this week - guess someone turned it back in, so I got moved to this one.

It's a 4A Boys Varsity - supposedly - game. Wonder if they will make it to double digits this time.

Don't stop the game when they get to 10 and hand the game ball to the coach. Just don't.

My buddy worked a Girls JV/V doubleheader this year. Total points for both games for one of the teams was 6 points. All of them were scored by the varsity team. JV team was held scoreless for the whole game. Something like 62-0. Varsity game 76-6

Last month, MSB. In the opening minute, I call a shooting foul against the home team that I immediately had second thoughts about. The visiting team sank both free throws.

Halftime score: Home 51, Visitors 2.

They played eight-minute quarters. We can't go to running time, but everyone agreed to go to six-minute quarters in the second half.

Had a similar type of game at Veazie a number of years ago. Jeff Topliff, who later played for the Black Bears, both in football and basketball, was on the team with two other 6 footers. Plus with the low ceiling and short court, it was pretty one-sided.

And, yes, that was before the gap.

I played in a game like that. My freshman year on HS V, we're in bi-district play-offs. Final score was 96/98-20. The mantra on our bench toward the end of the 3rd quarter was get to at least 20, keep them under 100. That team did go one to win the state championship.

Are There Hetero District Playoffs ???
 

Why would sexual orientation have anything to do with this thread?
