Question for Rookies

A scenario I thought of while discussing the held ball issues:
Team A with team control in their FC. A1, standing at the elbow, throws a pass across the lane to a cutting A2. The pass hits B3 in the back of the head and lodges between the backboard and ring.

AP or Team A ball since they had team control?

And I tell you, ask and you will receive; For everyone who asks, receives.

(Did you peek? Did I get it right?)

This rookie says AP, citing 6-4-3(d).

Yep, I asked because I originally thought it might have something to do with team control since 99 times out of 100 this play involves a try.

In an ideal world, I'd probably change this rule; but since the play it would affect is so rare (I've never seen it) it's not worth a lot of effort to change.
