Water cooler time out request

BV Christmas tournament game with two teams from outside our area. Not familiar with players or coaches of either team. I'm at Lead in frontcourt when A1 gets trapped by B2 and B3 in my primary. This potentially being a "time-out" situation, I'm listening for the coach while watching the players. Sure enough, I hear the request from the general vicinity of the bench. I take a quick look to confirm its the head coach before granting the TO...but I can't find him! He's not sitting on the bench or standing in the coach's box. So I direct my attention back to the play on the court. A1 throws the ball off B2's leg and the ball goes OOB. Its A's ball, but here comes an irritated Coach A from behind the bench (and 10' below the coach's box line) holding a cup of water he had just gotten from the water cooler. He's wanting to know why I didn't grant him a TO!!! Sheesh! "Coach, I couldn't FIND you to give it to you" was all I could come up with. Need to work on my sarcastic replies.

Coach, if I'd have known it was you behind the bench, I'd have granted the TO and given you a technical foul.

Coach, when not in the box, you cease to exist except for the purpose of picking up technical fouls.

Sorry coach. Since you were back at the water cooler, I thought you were Dagwood Bumstead. But I should have known the difference, since he has a lot more hair.

I have had a coach ask me if a "Ritalin Time out counted as a full or 30"!

One of my favorite billboards: "Ritalin - it's easier than parenting" :D

It's in the same youtube video as "United States Army - we're proud of our privates" and "Denny's - it's 3 am, you're stoned and nothing else is open"
