Now does the NBE want that called at the end of a game of theirs? I couldn't care less, since I hardly ever watch those games.

Finally, a little credibility for the NBA.

There's nothing to think about. It was an easy offensive foul and I'm sure Haywoode Workman and Rodney Mott will get the play graded as CC.

I am not disputing the call, I think it was the correct one. But there is a long history of NBA refs not making this call late in games.

There is?

Let's not kid ourselves...people think we "swallow the whistle" at all levels of play at the end of the game.

Of course they do, it does not mean it is true.

Peace

Well my point is this is not a solely NBA issue like the OP seems to make it out to be.

Yes, according to Scott Hastings and George Karl in that article. They both said they haven't seen it in nearly 3 decades. Gee, that's almost 30 years, isn't it? That's a long time between last second calls in the NBE. :D

And both the T and C made this call at the same time. It's really a no brainer PC foul. Not calling this would be giving the game to the offense here.

watching the play in the OP, I think it's very easy to say this charged was called correctly.

did you notice that for whatever reason (maybe straightlined) the L had no call, the C (after waiting) had a PC foul, and the T (after waiting a really long time) had a PC foul too?

the mantra in the NBA now is: "get the call right". this is an end of game/game changing call...IMHO, BOTH C and T got it right.

Well, I'm not thrilled with both the T and C making a call here (and I'd guess neither are they), but it's a fantastic call. And a bit of a delay is appropriate here in determining if the contact is incidental or illegal -- they also have to check the defender's feet to ensure they're outside the arc.

You're really big on the Lead calling block/charge plays coming from someone else's area, aren't you?

Looks to me like the L had his eyes on the shot going up instead of the players, not to mention 2 players between him and the shooter and defender.
