My Hoosiers Moment

First of all, if you haven't seen the movie: Really!?!

So here we are about 1 minute into the second half. H scores and V is taking the ball out and everyone (except your trusty new L) is walking/jogging down the court. I turn to watch the back players and what do I see? A person of questionable sobriety stumble out of the stands and take a position just inside the 3 pt line. I stop the game and the local constable walks out onto the court to escort this gentlemen away. The gentleman then points at my partner and says he missed a call but it was still a hell of a game!!!
The only thing that could top it was when the time keeper was ejected for saying a call was "BS" and waving his hands in frustration. Where was EAGLE when we needed him!

Once I had a scorekeeper refuse to put a technical in the book for a player who used profanity because the scorekeeper said it was his son and his son "would never swear". As you may have guessed, we replaced the guy.

Never had a drunk come out on the court, except of course, for a few partners. Just kidding.

I've never seen Hoosiers. Mostly because when I was really young the Bucks were my favorite team and Oscar Robertson played for them.

When I was a rookie, I was watching the V game after my JV was over. The scorekeeper apparently was badmouthing the visiting players as they checked in because the visiting coach went to the table and pulled the scorekeeper by his tie across the table to go face to face with him. I thought he was going to hit him! Cooler heads prevailed fortunately. The V refs T'd up the coach and the game went on.

They should have replaced the scorekeeper at the same time. And written a report on the scorekeeper..and the circumstances. I really don't think I personally could have done one without doing the other in that particular situation.

Totally agree you can't punish one without punishing the other.
