legal Undershirt?

First game last night...During warm-ups we notice a girl wearing what appeared to be "shooting sleeves" on both arms. Upon closer examination to see if they were for "medical purposes", we discovered she is actually wearing a white long sheeved compression type undershirt under her white game jersey. Asked for my opinion if it was legal or not, I replied that it is the correct color, both sheeves are the same length, and that is all the rules give us to be concerned about.

This is the first time I have seen a long sleeved undershirt worn in a game. I say legal - Anybody got anything different?

perfectly legal (NFHS). I believe it may be different with NCAA, but I'm not sure.

This is not the first time for our board. 2 years ago there was BV player in AAA who was wearing a long sleeved shirt under his jersey.

Per Art Hyland (NCAA Men’s Basketball Secretary-Rules Editor) in his memo dated Dec 1, 2010:

Long-sleeved shirts. NCAA rules do not permit shirts to extend below the elbow. One must present medical documentation from a physician, written on his/her business letterhead, justifying the medical need for sleeves to extend below the elbow. This letter must be sent to the appropriate NCAA Basketball Secretary-Rules Editor. Should this waiver be granted, a copy of the written waiver must be available to officials at each game. No logos, decorations, trim, commerative patches, lettering or numbering are permitted on these long sleeved undershirts. Please note: NCAA rules permit arm sleeves, that is a sleeve that slips over the hand and up the arm. No written waiver is required for this item, but verification is required verbally by either the player's coach or the team's medical personnel. (Rule 3-9.9)

If It's Not Illegal, Then It's Legal ...

3-5-5: Undershirts shall be a single solid color similar to the torso of the
jersey and shall be hemmed and not have frayed or ragged edges. If the
undershirt has sleeves, they shall be the same length. A visible manufacturer's
logo/trademark/reference is not permitted on the undershirt.

3.5.5 SITUATION: Prior to the opening jump, an official notices A1 is wearing
an undershirt with sleeves cut off and hemmed at the shoulders. A2 and A3 are
both wearing undershirts with normal length sleeves. All undershirts are similar
in color to the game jersey. RULING: All players are wearing legal apparel. The
rule does not require all players to wear the same length sleeves on their undershirts,
but each individual player must have sleeves the same length on his/her
undershirt when worn.

And in the same vein....

This was brought up by Freddy as a result of a badly-written test question....

Casebook play 3.5 SITUATION B:
The officials are on the court prior to the game observing the team warm-ups. One official notices that a member of team A is wearing a decorative necklace.
RULING: The official shall inform the team member to remove the jewelry immediately. Upon compliance, the team member may continue to warm up with his or her teammates and may start the game without penalty.

Questions:
1) What do you do if the team member refuses to remove the jewelry immediately?
2) What, if anything, is the penalty for that refusal?
3) Does the same ruling(s) apply to illegal undershirts?

Inquiring minds need to know!

1) Have them not warm-up
2) same thing
3) Yes

IF they "insist" on warming up with the illegal item, then you *could* have an unsporting T -- it will "never" get that far, though.

That goes the same as NCAA-W as well.
