Another season starts

Worked a scrimmage last night with one of the associations I belong to (I think the longest I was on the floor was 11 minutes, running clock) and another scrimmage (a paid one) tomorrow afternoon. Then Friday a GV and Saturday a BV in the afternoon and a GV in the evening.

Still feels like it should be football season. I'm guessing some of you have worked a few weeks by now....

I get started on Tuesday with a JVG road game, VG home game, and VB tournament away game! I'm in a gym 9 out of the next 10 days from 11/30 to 12/11. Let the madness begin my friends:D:D:D:D:D

Break time for me until Tuesday. Then 7 in 5 days. Have worked a half dozen games already.

First one last night, 3 person BV. Only had one goofy thing happen. Other partners have a double whistle. Both think the other is going to report it and then we go to a timeout. Both forget the number of the fouler (I know it should never, never happen). They end up reporting it on 13 and asst. coach complains because that was the wrong guy. The table doesn't know either. So the R changes it to another player. Asst. coach says "that's the wrong guy too but that's fine." So I approach the asst. and kindly ask him "so who should it be on?" He wouldn't answer. My next response to him was "So you don't want to be honest?" He sheepishly looks away.

I guess my lesson is even though I was the non-calling official, I could've still got the number of the fouler.

Bingo! Unless of course, you & the hot mom in the 4th row were exchanging goo-goo eyes. I can totally understand that :D

Thin schedule down here last night. Maybe 10 games in the whole area. I'll get 3 in this weekend and 4 more in next week.

There are a couple of games this week but the season gets started for real next week. I've got GV Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and BV Friday and Saturday....all tournaments. That means no JV for me next week.:D

Wow. Any physical ailments that you anticipate with 10 straight days?

No, I got it, I've just been in England for 2 weeks and it slipped my mind when I came back. I'll send you a reply in the next day or so.

Around these parts, noncalling officials get the number of the foulee. Noncalling officials may know what the fouler looks like, and maybe remember him, if asked, but their main assignment is to pick up the number of the foulee for free throw shooting purposes. I know that others may do this differently, but as St. Ambrose used to say, "When in Rome ..."
