Out of bounds to inbounds

A1 is in his front court dribbling the ball, B1 swipes at the ball, hits the ball, it goes and hits A1's leg and goes into the back court, A1 is the first to pick it up.

Back court violation?

Thank you

This must be the third or so question in the past week asking about backcourt violations haha...

The four criteria for backcourt violations:

1. Team control
2. Ball achieves frontcourt status
3. Team in control is the last to touch the ball while it has a frontcourt status
4. Team in control is the first to touch the ball after it has achieved a backcourt status.

Knowing those four criteria, how would you answer the question now?

I really do wish I had a PDF version of the rule book and case book as I often don't have those nearby haha

while that would be helpful, you can answer the question with the criteria listed in post 2

Me thinks this was more a "come look at my website" post than a real Q. What does the question have to do with out of bounds anyway?

Not out of bounds, it was a back court question.

I assumed last in team control, but I also thought of the last to touch it, since it went off of A1's leg

Exactly. So why did you post the topic as "Out of bounds to inbounds"? :)

socal Wed Oct 20, 2010 08:03pm

It''s called a mistake, I was thinking about three situations, this was the one I was curious about, and without proof reading my post, I hit submit
