Headbands/wristbands

For you guys from Texas and anyone else I suppose. I was given an interpretation that per the powers that be, if 1 team members wears a head or wristband, then ALL team members are required to wear a head/wristband. Is this true?

I cannot understand how the rule could be interpretted this way. Head/wristbands have never been required equipment, but if the plays chose to wear them they must meet the guidelines. Am I totally missing something here fellas?

The new rule change only allows for a different color, it has changed nothing else.

thanks!

I believe that it is TRUE that you were given such an interpretation.

I also believe that any such interpretation is contrary to the rules.

;)

Not true. Anyone wearing headbands/wristbands must all wear the same color, and the color must be legal. Kinda silly, even for Texas, to force all team members to wear headbands and wristbands if any one player does.

Another Job For The Mythbusters ...

Headbands and wristbands must be white, black, beige or a single solid school color, provided all team members are wearing the same color for each item for all participants. Only a single item may be worn on the head and/or on each wrist. Sweatbands must be worn below the elbow.

This is just me, but I HATE these uniform rules. To me the uniform is the shirt and the shorts. Everything else is just periphery. (Baring things like ear rings and jewelry that could cause harm) Little did I know I signed up to be Perez Hilton instead of just a referee!! I mean really what's next? Are we going to have to color coordinate a teams socks with their headband with their wristband with the accent colors of their sneakers????
Ok, Im off my soap box.

Shut up. Don't give the NFHS any ideas.

Well the NF did once have restrictions on socks and logos. Thank God they got rid of that provision. I doubt they will go back to that. Not sure why they got so into these issues of wristbands and headbands.

Peace
