Good news! Bad news!

The good news is that I have lost nearly 20 lbs since the end of last season. The bad news is that I am likely going to need new referee slacks with a smaller waist size. The good news is that I figured this out 6 weeks before the first games. The bad news is that there appear to be few alternatives to Honig's if I want the pants hemmed before shipping. Anybody have any alternatives? With shipping & hemming, I am looking at close to 60 bucks. Thanks.

If your looking for a possible alternative for pants why not try Purchase Officials Supplies. They normally have pretty good shipping prices and are really good when it comes to get things to you in time so that you need them. As for getting them hemmed why don't you check with a local dry cleaner/tailor in your area. The pants normally don't come hemmed but if you know a place that does them, it works just as well.

Up here in PA, I can get my pants order and shipped for around $53 dollars, but I can also add another 7 dollars to that for the hemming.

I don't know what the price would be for your hemming down there. I guess it depends on the tailor or dry cleaner, but I just thought I would give you so help on things that help me.

Also, congrats on the weight lose.

Peace,
JB

Any particular reason you can't just wear department store Sansabelts? In fact, I think Penney's has a house brand that's a knock-off of those and a lot cheaper.

At least, they used to have them. At my age, memory is something that occurs only once in a while, I think. :o

Do they look exactly like officiating pants bought from a supplier? You know, black pockets, pleats, etc?

For years I wore Honig's pants and I switched to Smitty from Purchase a few seasons ago. They are good pants and getting them hemmed is as easy as going to a local dry cleaner (although I have someone in-house to do them for me).

Already had to go the begging route for patches to get sewn on. Thanks for all of the suggestions.

Lost weight? Last time I worked a game with you in VT, you weighed about 140 lbs!!

I was cruising near the 170 mark in April. Still have a bit to lose. My ankles & legs already feel much better. Has the NCU former coach made good on his wish to pick up the whistle?

The best deal I've found online for Sansabelts is Referee's Call.
