stripes we only wear pants for NFHS games, but those of us with nice legs wouldn't mind wearing shorts. 😉 For the rest of the officials please wear pants! 😮
Brian Watson If they let us I would, but until then I am not going to worry about it. I wear shorts in volleyball, track, and Lacrosse, so it would not be a huge deal for me.

And WNBA runs May thru August. But I know many on this board don't consider NBA and WNBA "real" basketball.
dblref May through August, we wear shorts unless we are doing AAU games. We do have exceptions to the AAU rule, but half the time you don't hear about it until you arrive at the game and find out you are the only one wearing pants or shorts depending on whether you got the message. I simply carry both with me. BTW, I only shave 1 leg and I usually alternate weeks.
PP Shorts are cool especially in Northern Ontario where the gyms are heated and it is very hot in there.
rgaudreau But PP, It can be 40 below outside, and I'm still going to want to wear my shorts. I'm bringing this up at the next association meeting. REn

w_sohl I prefer to wear pants, I look and feel more profesional. Although, during the summer I always ask if shorts are acceptable and bring a pair of pants anyway.
Tim Roden It all depends on the temperature outside. Seriously, I'll wear shorts during scrimmages in November but then paints until March for all games, rec league and NFHS. There are camps in the summer that require paints so know what is expected in dress for those.
Spaman_29 In Utah we wear shorts during summer league and then also any summer camps. During the season we aren't allowed to wear them. With the exception of rec league games. Then it is up to the league but most of them don't require the pants.
