OT - basketballs are too noisy?

I guess they can be in some circumstances.

Good thing there aren't many thunderstorms in that area. That would send them over the edge.

Round 2?

Hatfield's vs McCoy's this aint. Well, at least I hope it doesn't get to that.....:(

Reminds me of an episode of Cops where this lady called and complained that the kids were playing basketball in the court. She just didn't like them being out there. By the end of the call, the deputy was playing basketball with the kids.

What a dumb couple. What the heck do they want them to do?

Peace

Consider the alternative. Taking drugs doesn't make much noise. Our local kids rec league has two "unofficial" slogans - "Shoot hoops, not heroin" and "Do sports, not drugs".

And playing basketball does not steal from your house or rob your car either.

I agree with the person in the article that said they should move to a rural area where they will not have to worry about neighbors.

Peace

Here's an extreme case of basketball hatred. I direct you to the beginning of the paragraph titled "Nightmare Begins"

Sounds like they were playing late at night. I'm not so sure I disagree with the family that was complaining....particularly if it was a regular occurrance. Most people have jobs and listening to a basketball bounce as you're trying to get to sleep is not something you can tolerate.

Not just in Oregon. My brother had the same situation happen to him in the Minneapolis area. He put up a fence of arborvitae trees to deaden the sound, didn't play every night, but when they did, the neighbor had a fit. She would throw stuff over the fence to get them to stop. They always quit by 9:00.

Sounds like Bruce never got over being cut from the middle school team :)

I'll stay off topic with this comment about another totally different story. A woman who works for a courier service around here apparently had been stealing checks from some of her company's clients and depositing them into her personal account. When her bank figured out what she was doing, they closed her account. She decided to turn herself in and sent an email to the county sheriff's department. At the end of her email (according to the local paper) she asked that if she had to go to jail, could she just go on weekends.

Funny.

Funny.

They do that in some places for misdemeanors. I don't think the state pen will make those kind of arrangements though. :)
