That's the game in which guys in Europe are making more money than those in the NFL and NBA.

On average? Or just the top tier?

Don't know. Would require a bit of research.

I was just curious. I know Beckham made quite a bit of cash, but I don't know how he compares with the likes of A-Rod, Peyton Manning, or even the pending contract with LeBron James (that will be artificially stunted by the salary cap).

Take a look at this article:
A look at the best paid soccer players in the English Premier League - by Ben Hughes - Helium

Note that the numbers are in British Pounds, so to convert to USD multiply by 1.5 .

Of particular note to your inquiry about the average $ earned is this: "the average way of the Premier League player is estimated to be 21,000 per week."

That is about 1.6 million USD per year. That's easily on par with the major sports in the US.

Are you kidding? Most NBE players have that much in loose change on their dresser. ;)

The average salaries of NBA players

by S. F. Heron

It's rather astonishing to consider that roughly 60 percent of NBAhttp://images.intellitxt.com/ast/adTypes/2_bing.gif players go completely broke within 5 years of retirement, according to the NBA Players Association. Professional basketball players are the highest paid athletes in the world with an average salary for the 2007-2008 year at $5.356 million. This figure doesn't include the very lucrative endorsement deals, bonuses, or other financial perks that come from being a NBA player.
For comparison, the average NFL player makes a paltry $770,000 per year.
